About ThoughtSeed

Impact, Relationships,
and Ideas – the ties
that bind the work.

ThoughtSeed connects the dots across learning, technology and strategy – then seeds the ideas and partnerships that turn insight into action. It works where complexity, collaboration and unfinished problems meet, at the intersection of strategy, learning design, and impact. Chris Sullivan leads the practice.

What ThoughtSeed Brings

The proposition

Reputation

Thirty years of delivered outcomes across the public, private and not-for-profit sectors. Organisations return to ThoughtSeed because the work holds – strategy that survives contact with delivery.

Trusted partners

A curated network of practitioners, technologists, researchers and sector specialists. ThoughtSeed assembles the right team for each engagement rather than fitting the work to a fixed bench.

Wide networks

Relationships across New Zealand, the Pacific, the Middle East and Asia – built through years of boots-on-the-ground delivery, not introductions. Access to the rooms where decisions get made.

I am curious about context

Comfortable across contexts and cultures. ThoughtSeed reads the room – knowing when to push, when to listen, and how to frame strategy so it lands with the people who have to carry it.

How ThoughtSeed Works

Bridging strategy and delivery

The context varies – from startups to organisations spanning more than forty countries – but the challenge is usually the same: good ideas that stall before they become outcomes.

ThoughtSeed builds the momentum that helps teams do their best work. ThoughtSeed works at every level: clarifying strategic intent, designing implementation pathways, building capability, facilitating stakeholder alignment, and creating the systems that sustain progress.

Equally at home in the boardroom and in the detail, because effective strategy requires both. And always in service of the people who have to carry the work forward.

Founder
Chris Sullivan, Founder of ThoughtSeed

Chris Sullivan

Founder, ThoughtSeed

I bring three decades of leadership across learning, strategy and technology – from commercial director roles expanding services into thirty-plus countries, to not-for-profit governance and education sector transformation at home in Aotearoa.

ThoughtSeed is the practice I built to put that experience to work for the organisations and people I believe in: complex, collaborative, unfinished problems where insight has to lead to action.

Giving Back

Time given where it can do the most good.

I give my time to organisations I believe in – the kind of work that compounds across communities and generations. Beyond these roles, I give time and resource where I can provide value, insight or expertise.
